기본 개요

 

 

• 서울교통공사는 2025년 9월 6일부터 25개 주요 지하철 역사에 ‘신형 교통카드 키오스크’를 시범 운영 시작했어. 이후 연말까지 전체 1호선~8호선(273개 역사) 중 일부 구간을 제외하고 총 440대를 설치할 예정이야.  
• 기존 키오스크는 대부분 현금만 결제 수단이었고, 기능도 제한적이었는데, 신형은 신용카드 + 스마트폰 간편결제를 새롭게 지원해.  

 

 

 

 

지원 기능 (무엇을 할 수 있는가)

 

 

신형 키오스크에서는 다음과 같은 작업들이 가능해:

기능	가능 여부 / 비고
1회권 구매 / 발매	가능. 신용카드 또는 간편결제로 구매 가능함.
정기권 구매/충전	가능. 정기권 또한 신용카드로 충전 가능.
기후동행카드 충전	가능. (기후동행카드 = 친환경 또는 특정 정책 지원 카드)
선불카드 구매 및 권종 변경	구매 가능. 권종(충전 금액 종류) 변경 가능. 다만 선불카드 충전은 현금만 가능함.
환불	기존에는 고객센터에 가야 했던 1회권·정기권의 환불 처리를 키오스크에서 직접 할 수 있음.

• 신용카드: 주요 기능 대부분—1회권, 정기권, 기후동행카드 충전 및 구매 등에 사용 가능.  
• 스마트폰 간편결제: 카카오페이, 네이버페이, 토스 등. 연말까지 순차 도입될 예정이며, 초기에는 일부 역만 가능.  
• 현금: 여전히 현금으로만 가능한 경우 있음. 특히 선불카드 충전은 현금 결제만 가능.  

 

 

사용 절차 흐름 (예시)

 

 

아래는 1회권 구매 혹은 카드 충전 시의 일반적인 흐름이야:

 

1. 키오스크 화면에서 원하는 기능 선택
   → 예: “1회권 구매”, “정기권 충전”, “기후동행카드 충전/구매”, “선불카드 권종 변경”, “환불” 등.  
2. 카드 종류 혹은 상품 선택 (권종/금액) 입력
3. 결제 수단 선택
   
4. 결제 진행
   
5. 카드 발매 / 충전 완료 → 실물 카드 받거나 충전된 카드 확인
6. 필요시 환불 또는 권종 변경 선택 → 화면 안내에 따라 본인 인증 및 잔액/남은 기간 확인하여 처리됨.  

 

 

 

 

접근성 및 추가 기능

 

 

• 교통약자 접근성 강화됨.
  
• 이동형 키오스크도 도입됨: 축제나 집회 등 대규모 인파 상황에서 1회권 신용카드 발행 가능한 이동형 기기 15대.  

 

 

 

 

 

설치역소 및 도입 일정

 

 

• 시범 운영 역사 (25개)에서 먼저 시작됨. 예: 시청역, 종로5가역, 뚝섬역, 잠실나루역, 경복궁역, 옥수역, 고속터미널역, 동대문역사문화공원역 등.  
• 전체 확대: 연말까지 440대 설치 완료 예정이며, 1~8호선 273개 역사에서 순차적으로 설치됨. 다만 일부 구간(4호선 진접선, 7호선 부천 구간, 8호선 별내선)은 제외됨.

주의사항 / 제한 및 알아둘 것

 

 

• 선불카드 충전은 현금만 가능 → 신용카드나 간편결제는 지원 안 돼. 이유는 오남용 가능성 때문임.  
• 간편결제 기능은 아직 전역에서 바로 가능한 건 아님 → 일부 역사에서 순차 도입됨. 모두 활성화되지는 않았어.  
• 초기 시행 오류 가능성 → 시스템 변화 초기에 사용자 인터페이스나 절차에서 혼선이 있을 수 있으니, 화면의 안내 문구를 잘 보고 조작하도록 해.
• 잔돈/거스름돈 문제가 있을 수 있으니, 현금 결제 시 지폐 단위 및 잔돈 가능 여부 확인.
• 환불 및 권종 변경은 키오스크에서 가능하지만, 카드 종류나 구매 조건에 따라 추가 인증(예: 신분증, 카드 본인 확인) 등이 요구될 수 있음.

Overview

 

 

• Starting September 6, 2025, Seoul Metro began trial operation of new transportation card kiosks at 25 major subway stations. By the end of the year, a total of 440 new kiosks will be installed across Lines 1 through 8, covering 273 stations, except for some excluded sections.

At the new kiosks, you can:

Typical Usage Flow

 

 

Here’s a general step‑by‑step for things like buying a single‑ride ticket or recharging:

 

1. On the kiosk screen, select the function you want (e.g. “Buy One‑Time Ticket,” “Recharge Commuter Pass,” “Recharge Climate‑Companion Card,” “Prepaid Type Change,” “Refund”).  
2. Choose the ticket/card type or the fare/amount you want.
3. Select payment method: credit card, simple payment (if available), or cash.  
4. After payment, the kiosk issues the ticket or recharges the chosen card. Collect physical card if purchasing, or check your card balance.
5. If doing a refund or a type change, follow the on‑screen instructions which may include identity verification, checking the remaining value or pass validity, etc.  

 

 

 

 

 

Accessibility & Other Features

 

 

• Kiosks are designed with accessibility in mind: compliant with the amended Korean law on disability discrimination / unmanned terminal installation (2024).  
• Features include: screen & control panels installed at <= 1,220 mm from floor.  
• Additional supports: braille keypad, earphone jack for audio output, lower screen layout for easier reach.  
• Also, mobile / temporary kiosks (15 units) will be deployed for large‑crowd events (festivals, assemblies) to alleviate congestion. These allow for single‑ride purchases with credit card.

Stations & Installation Schedule

 

 

• Pilot (trial) stations (25): Some examples—Sicheong Station, Jongno 5‑ga, Ttukseom, Jamsilnaru, Gyeongbokgung, Oksu, Suseo, etc.  
• Full rollout: By year‑end, 440 units across most stations (1‑8‑lines, 273 stations), with certain lines/segments excluded (4‑line Jinjeop branch, 7‑line Bucheon section, 8‑line Byeollae section).  

 

 

 

 

 

Notes & Limitations to Keep in Mind

 

 

• Prepaid‑card recharging remains cash‑only: You can’t use credit card or mobile payment for that particular operation.  
• Simple payments / mobile app payments are not yet universally available—some stations may not support them yet.  
• Initial familiarization: Because many people are used to the old method (cash‑only), look carefully at on‑screen prompts and options. Mistakes may happen initially.
• Change / refund policies: If doing refund or switching type, identity verification might be required, and the amount refunded may be prorated.
• Equipment limits: Some kiosks may temporarily be offline or busy; in large events the mobile kiosks are helpful but availability might fluctuate.
